You will undertake 12 QSM Course Training Units, comprising 9 Core (compulsory) Units and 3 Elective Units.
Each Unit consists of four Modules:
- Module 1: e-Learning
- Module 2: Additional Study
- Module 3: Online Assessment
- Module 4: Practical Assignment
The entire course of 12 Units is designed to take 12 months of part time study and each unit will take approximately twelve hours to complete.
Pattern of study for each module:
Module 1 typically takes around 90-120 minutes to complete. This e-Learning unit comprises video presentations from the chief instructor, on-screen narrated slides, downloadable and printable information, inter-active or animated slides, and
videos from external sources. Inserted between sections along the way are “Knowledge Checks”, which are simple quizzes, with ‘true or false” questions, based on the prior sections of the training.
Module 2 is Additional Study. This module takes approximately 120 minutes to complete. It typically comprises core reading material, documents and articles from websites, and some contain externally-sourced videos. All of this pertains to the
subject matter in Module 1. This additional study is intended to give you a broader understanding of the subject matter, in preparation for the online assessment.
Module 3 is the online assessment. This is a 30-question multiple-choice test, covering the subject matter from both the e-Learning and Additional Study and core reading. The assessment takes approximately 60 minutes to complete.
Module 4 requires you to conduct a Practical Assignment, based on the module subject matter and relative to your place of work. This will typically take around 7 hours to complete. The module contains very detailed instructions and advice on
how to complete the assignment.
- The Online Assessment of 30 questions, covering both the e-learning and core reading, requires a 70% pass mark (21/30). One repeat attempt possible.
- The Assignment – submitted online and externally marked by a subject matter expert - requires a 70% pass mark. One repeat attempt possible.
