Matthew Harris MSc
Africa Regional Director - Saladin Security
Following a 14-year career in the British Army, Matt diversified to work in the private security industry. Initially he spent four years in Iraq, with valuable exposure to Middle-Eastern society and culture, prior to taking up a position with
Saladin Security on their EU Commission project in Afghanistan. A short career gap followed, during which time Matt undertook a business management diploma in Australia, before re-joining Saladin as the Operations Manager for a newly formed
subsidiary in South Sudan, Veteran Security Services (VSS). Matt remained with VSS for five years and departed as Country Manager, during which time he’d gained vast African security management and related contextual experience, including
managing the provision of security to Embassies, Oil and Gas projects and the UN. Following a 3 year period with Tullow Oil in Kenya, Matt accepted the position of Africa Regional Director, again with Saladin Security, based in Nairobi.
Matt remains an avid traveler and keen sportsman; he holds an MSc in Security Sector Management from Cranfield University, UK (2015), and is NEBOSH qualified.
